OVERVIEW
Understanding Peripheral Artery Disease
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs, most frequently the legs.
Patients often experience intermittent claudication (leg pain while walking). Severe PAD can cause critical limb ischemia requiring revascularization.
TREATMENT OPTIONS
Preserving Limb Perfusion
Minimally invasive endovascular procedures restore distal flow and promote wound healing.
Supervised Exercise
Structured walking programs improving collateral circulation.
PTA Balloon Angioplasty
High-pressure balloon dilatation of peripheral stenoses.
Peripheral Stenting
Self-expanding stents designed to resist external compression in leg arteries.
